featuring dual LAN and four COM portsfor always-on Point Of Sales
(POS) applications.
Introducing the ultra-compact and highlyintegrated VIA EPIA
PE-Series Mini-ITX Mainboards. The VIA EPIA PE ismore functionality
with the onboard digital I/O and SMBus. It featuresfour COM Ports
and digital I/O support that is designed for use in POSsystems. Its
VT6106S and VT6103 Ethernet controllers make it a perfectfit for
use as a hardware firewall system.
The mainboard is based on the VIA CLE266chipset that features an
embedded hardware MPEG-2 accelerator and anintegrated S3 Graphics
UniChrome? 2D/3D graphics controller. Its connectivityoptions
include support for up to six USB 2.0 connections, four COMports
and two 10/100 Fast Ethernet ports. The VIA EPIA PE also
offerssupport for a range of embedded LCD panels.
Its additional expansioncapabilities include one PCI slot. With the
sizable memory bandwidthof DDR266 SDRAM and the high data transfer
speeds of ATA-133, the VIAEPIA PE delivers the performance to run
commercial digital video andaudio applications.
The VIA EPIA PE conforms to the Mini-ITXform-factor measuring a
mere 17 cm x 17 cm. Its low profile makes iteven more space saving.
The VIA EPIA PE is available with the VIA C3processor. Its
x86-based platform makes it compatible with a wide rangeof software
including Microsoft? Windows? and Linux operating systems.
